WHAT: Colorectal Health Workshop for Tribal CHRs
WHEN: Monday, June 18th & Tuesday, June 19th 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Isleta Resort & Casino Golf Club | Isleta Pueblo, NM
WHY: This training has been designed specifically for Tribal Community Health Representatives (CHRs) to strengthen skills and knowledge in providing community colorectal health education and outreach services. Participants will learn about 1) anatomy of the digestive system, 2) colorectal cancer among American Indians, 3) screening exams for colorectal cancer early detection, 4) colorectal cancer risk factors, and 5) colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment. Teaching strategies include interactive activities, videos, digital stories, games, and classroom instruction. All participants will take home materials for use in their community health education activities. Join us!
